Our foster carers are the heart and soul of Hull Fostering. They provide the love, stability, and support that help our children thrive. We’re incredibly proud of the amazing community we’ve built together. Here, you can meet some of our wonderful carers and hear their stories.
Meet our carers
A minute of me - Lisa
7 and a half years ago whilst Lisa was helping her foster carer friend to look after a brother and 2 sisters, she took the plunge and contacted Hull Fostering to enquire about becoming a respite carer so she could continue to support the children. After discovering the children may be split up as no one was available to care for all 3 children long-term together, it looked likely the 3 children were soon going to be split up and live separately, until Lisa asked if she could help keep the children together. Now 7 and a half years later, with a blended family of 8 children ranging from 11 to 31 years old, Lisa and her partner say they are happy and thriving in life.
A minute of me - Sarita
Meet Sarita, a foster carer of 12 years with Hull Fostering. Working full-time, Sarita fosters around her job and explains what it is really like to have 2 young people in her care.
A minute of me - Nora
Nora and Pete have provided long term foster care for siblings, short term and even emergency care to 9 children since becoming foster carers with Hull Fostering back in December 2014. The couple is currently caring for a 4-year-old little boy who they offered to look after overnight back in January 2023, whilst a search was ongoing for a suitable long term home for him. Nora and Pete quickly identified the little boys triggers and were able to support him to feel calm in a new place with new people. What was supposed to be just one overnight stay, has now progressed into the little boy staying with the couple long-term.
