Tophill low, young photographer winner, aged 13, Hull Fostering,

Big congratulations to budding photographer who has won the Young Photographer category at Top Hill Low Nature Reserve.

We are thrilled to share the exciting news that one of our young people, a 13-year-old student who is also in the Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University Step Up Move On programme, has won the Young Photographer category in the annual photography competition at Top Hill Low Nature Reserve!

The Step Up Move On programme is designed to support a small group of young people with care experience throughout their secondary education. It aims to build confidence, self-esteem, and support them in achieving their future aspirations. As part of this programme, A* visited Top Hill Low Nature Reserve and took part in the reserve’s annual photography competition.

Margaret from Top Hill Low Nature Reserve, who was part of the judging panel, shared her excitement:

“We are pleased to announce that A*, who visited with the Children’s University Step Up, Move On programme back in May last year, has won the Young Photographer competition in our reserve’s annual photography competition which has taken place over the Christmas and New Year period. As a category winner, A* will receive a year’s membership to the reserve. This means that he can visit at any time without paying an entrance fee and he will also be able to use the special photography hide. Congratulations A* and thank you for entering our competition.”

A’s Hull Fostering foster carer, Heather, also shared her joy:

“I am so proud of A. His dedication and passion for photography have truly shone through, and this award is well-deserved. Congratulations, A! We look forward to seeing more of your amazing work in the future.”

This achievement highlights just how gifted our children really are. A’s success is a testament to the incredible talent and potential that our young people possess.

We are incredibly proud of A and all our young people. Their talents and achievements continue to inspire us every day.
