We are delighted to announce that Lifeskills Hub, has partnered with Hull Fostering to become a certified fostering-friendly organisation.
Hull sadly has one of the highest rates of looked-after children in the UK. This creates an urgent need for more foster carers to provide stable and loving homes.
To help us find suitalbe foster carers, Lifeskills Hub have amended their HR policies and will now offer three days of paid leave to their employees applying to become foster carers, and provide five additional days of paid leave annually to employees who foster children.
This support helps their employees balance work with fostering responsibilities, making it easier to attend mandatory training and progress meetings.
The additional leave can be used for fostering commitments, including mandatory training and progress meetings, helping potential carers overcome practical obstacles to fostering.
This is a fantastic step towards addressing the urgent need for more foster carers in Hull.
Luke Cardwell, Director and Clinical Lead at Lifeskills Hub, said: “We are delighted to promote fostering opportunities. Working with children and young people and their wellbeing, we see first hand the impact of the warmth and care from foster carers can be life changing. At Life Skills Hub, we feel it is important to support our team to manage time off due to fostering commitments and promote the wonderful work of our colleagues in the fostering teams.”
Thank you Lifeskills Hub for supporting our children and all those who choose to foster and continue working.
