Hull Fostering Celebrates Huge Milestone as Liam Garrigan Becomes First Fostering Ambassador
Hull Fostering is buzzing with excitement as we proudly announce a truly momentous moment in our journey – Hull-born actor Liam Garrigan has officially joined us as our first-ever Fostering Ambassador.
The star of international screen and stage – whose roles span Transformers: The Last Knight, The Crown, 24: Live Another Day, and Once Upon A Time – is now using his global platform to shine a much-needed spotlight on fostering right here in his hometown.
Liam’s words are heartfelt, proud, and straight from the soul. In the video, he talks openly about the “extraordinary people” who step up to become foster carers in Hull and why he’s so proud to support us in any way he can. As someone who was born and raised in East Hull and educated at St Mary’s and Wyke Sixth Form College, Liam hasn’t forgotten his roots – and now he’s using his voice to lift up Hull’s children in care.
This is more than a celebrity endorsement. This is a huge step forward in helping us raise the profile of fostering in a city where hundreds of children need the love and stability of a foster family. With one of the highest numbers of looked-after children in the country, Hull needs more people to come forward. Liam’s voice will help us reach ears – and hearts – that might not have heard this message before.
Liam has committed to:
- Using his public platform to promote fostering in Hull and across the UK
- Supporting our recruitment campaigns on social media
- Appearing in awareness-raising videos
- Championing foster carers and the incredible work they do
- Visiting Hull soon to support our team, meet our carers, and help spread the word in person
Liam has a strong network in the world of TV, film, theatre, and music – and we hope that his involvement will encourage more Hull-born actors, singers, artists, and influential people to follow his lead and help us find more foster carers.
Can You Help?
We’re sending out a warm, open call to anyone who knows someone who might be able to help us raise the profile of fostering even further. Whether you’re in touch with a performer, presenter, influencer, sports star or artist – if they’ve got Hull in their heart, we’d love to hear from them.
Together, with people like Liam, we believe we can make fostering better known, better understood and more widely supported – so that every child in Hull gets the family they deserve.
To get involved or connect us with someone who could help, contact us via: www.HullFostering.co.uk or drop us a message on Instagram, Facebook, or by email.
Thank you, Liam. You’ve made Hull proud – again.
