There’s a rat on the run… and it's doing something amazing. One of the rat statues on the A Mischief of Rats trail is proudly carrying a "Foster for Hull" bag – and we need YOUR help to find it!
This summer, we're joining in the ratty mischief across Hull – and we’ve hidden a special message in plain sight.
Here’s the challenge:
Grab your friends, kids, or grandkids and head out on the “A Mischief of Rats” sculpture trail.
Find the rat with the Hull Fostering bag.
Snap a selfie or a family pic with it.
Share your photo on Hull Fostering's social media channels, give us a like and share to spread the word!
One lucky rat-spotter will win a £30 Love2Shop voucher – a perfect little treat.
Why are we joining in the rat race?
Because fostering is all about community, love, and doing something a bit different to make a difference for local children. That rat carrying our bag knows what’s up – we need more people like you to help us spread the word.

Hull Fostering “Mischief of Rats” Competition – Terms and Conditions
1. Promoter
The promoter is Hull Fostering, Kenworthy House, 98-104 George Street, HU1 3DT
2. Eligibility

The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over.

Employees of Hull City Council and their immediate families are eligible to enter but will not be given preferential treatment.

No purchase is necessary to enter.
3. How to Enter
To enter, participants must:
a) Visit the “A Mischief of Rats” sculpture trail in Hull.
b) Locate the rat sculpture featuring a Hull Fostering bag.
c) Take a selfie or group photo with the sculpture.
d) Post the photo on one of Hull Fostering’s official social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, or X), tagging the account and using the hashtag #FosterForHull.
e) Like and share the original competition post.
4. Entry Period

The competition opens on Saturday 24th May 2025 and closes at 11:59pm on Sunday 31st August 2025.

Entries received after this time will not be considered.
5. Prize

One winner will receive a £30 Love2Shop voucher.

The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered.
6. Winner Selection and Notification

The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries.

The draw will take place within 7 days of the closing date.

The winner will be contacted via the social media platform used to enter. If the winner does not respond within 7 days, Hull City Council reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
7. Publicity

By entering, participants agree to the use of their name and image in any publicity material related to the competition.

Personal data will be processed in accordance with Hull City Council’s privacy policy.
8. Liability

Hull City Council accepts no responsibility for entries not received due to technical issues or other reasons beyond its control.

Hull City Council reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
