Hull Fostering Picnic, Thanks to an incredible collaboration with the RSPCA Hull & East Riding, our fostering families were welcomed into the heart of their beautiful site for a private, sun-soaked picnic surrounded by nature, kindness

Every now and then, something truly special happens—and last week’s Fostering Picnic in the Orchard was one of those magical moments.

Thanks to an incredible collaboration with the RSPCA Hull & East Riding, our fostering families were welcomed into the heart of their beautiful site for a private, sun-soaked picnic surrounded by nature, kindness, and yes—plenty of wagging tails and gentle paws.

Set in the quiet, tucked-away orchard behind the RSPCA centre, this exclusive event was nothing short of enchanting. Families brought their picnic blankets, children played garden games, and carers relaxed under the trees, chatting and catching up with one another while the sunshine worked its magic.

But the real highlight? A rare, behind-the-scenes private tour of the rehoming centre, giving our children and carers the chance to meet the dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes. The RSPCA team couldn’t have been more welcoming. Their warmth, hospitality and thoughtfulness turned what was already a lovely afternoon into something completely unforgettable.

For many of our children, this was a unique and treasured opportunity to interact with animals in a calm, positive environment. The joy on their faces as they gently stroked a snoozing rescue dog or chatted with the cats curled up in sunbeams was something none of us will forget.

These moments matter deeply.

In the fostering world, connection is everything. Events like this are more than a day out—they’re a chance to feel part of something bigger. To laugh, talk, play and make memories. Our children played beautifully together, forming friendships. Our carers mingled and swapped stories. The sense of community was strong—and healing.

And just when we thought the afternoon couldn’t get any better, two of our youngest fostering stars took to the grass to audition live for Foster Fest. With no stage, no spotlight—just courage and heart—they sang their hearts out to warm applause. Needless to say, they’ll be performing centre stage at Foster Fest this summer, and we can’t wait to cheer them on again.

We are incredibly grateful to the RSPCA Hull for their generosity and kindness. Their support gave us a gift we’ll remember for a long time to come—and reminded us all of the power of coming together.
