If fostering has ever crossed your mind – even for a second – this is your chance to find out what it’s really like, from the comfort of your own home.
Hull Fostering is running a free, friendly online information session on Tuesday 15 July at 7.30pm, and you’re warmly invited to join us.
There’s no pressure, no commitment, and no expectations – just real talk from real people about what fostering involves, how it works, and how we’ll support you every step of the way.
All you need to do is register here
We’ll send you a reminder and a link to join the call on the day.
Why fostering? Why now?
Right now in Hull, we have children waiting to be matched with foster carers – but we simply don’t have enough carers available. We urgently need people in our city and surrounding areas weekends, during school holidays, or short term.
We’re looking for all sorts of people with different life experiences, family setups and availability. You don’t need to have children of your own, and you don’t need a big house – just a calm, kind approach and the ability to listen and care.
This information session is a really gentle way to explore whether fostering might fit into your life – whether now or in the future.
What you’ll get from the session:
-
A clear picture of what fostering actually involves – the highs, the challenges, and the reality
-
The different types of fostering available (like short-term, long-term, weekends or school holidays)
-
Stories and insight from real Hull foster carers
-
Answers to any questions you’ve been wondering about (or you can just listen in quietly)
We know fostering is a big decision. That’s why this session is here – to help you see what’s involved and whether it could work for you.
The truth is, we can’t do this without more local people coming forward. Every new carer we welcome helps us keep children close to home, with people who know their communities, their schools, and their city.
So if there’s even a little part of you that thinks, “Maybe I could…” – we’d love to see you on the call next Tuesday.
