Our Summer of Fun: Celebrating Community, Connection and Care

From exciting day trips and action-packed activities to heartwarming moments of friendship and support, it has been a season full of laughter, connection, and lasting memories.

More than just events, our summer programme showed the true strength of Hull Fostering - 

• we are a community that supports one another
• celebrates together
• ensures no family ever feels alone

For many fostering households, summer can feel like a long and expensive challenge. That’s why we work hard to provide free or low-cost activities where families can make memories together, offering children new experiences they may never have had before.

These activities aren’t just “days out”, they are lifelines, moments of joy, and opportunities to strengthen the bonds within our community.

Highlights of Summer 2025

This year, we packed in more than ever before! Some of the highlights included -

• Gravity Exclusive Booking – bouncing, games, and endless energy
• RSPCA Orchard Picnic – a calm and family-friendly day in nature
• Hull Pride – celebrating inclusivity together, side by side
• Web Adventure Park – 150 carers and children enjoyed a full day of fun
• Charity Ice Hockey Match – 2,000 people turned out for a fantastic event organised by a small group of foster carers
• Foster Fest – our summer finale, full of music, laughter, animals, and a foam party to remember

Alongside this, our weekly Hub continued to run, giving young people a safe space to play, create, and connect while carers relaxed and shared experiences.

What makes Hull Fostering truly unique is not just the events, it’s the people. Carers supporting one another, friendships being formed, and families standing shoulder to shoulder.

This summer we also saw the beginnings of something very special: the launch of our fostering association, Together We Foster. Even before becoming an official charity, they raised nearly £5,000 in just two events, a shining example of what happens when passionate carers come together for a shared purpose.

At Hull Fostering, we’re proud to say we have something extraordinary. We’re not just a service, we’re a family. A family built on care, kindness, and resilience.

This summer proved once again that when we come together, there’s nothing we can’t achieve.

Autumn

As we turn towards autumn and even start planning for Christmas, (yes, the panto and party are on their way!), we carry with us the energy and togetherness that this summer has given us.

To every carer, child, and supporter who joined us, thank you. You make Hull Fostering the best. You make it a community filled with warmth, joy, and friendship in abundance.
