Right here in the heart of Hull, something special is happening every week. The Hull Fostering Community Hub has become far more than a meet-up space.
It is a warm, welcoming place where our foster families can relax, connect and build the kind of friendships that make the fostering journey a little easier for everyone.
For our children and young people, the Hub is a safe space to play, try new activities and feel part of a big, supportive family.
For foster carers, it is a chance to share experiences, swap ideas and know they are never alone. These evenings help children form positive memories and give carers the opportunity to build the networks that make fostering sustainable and rewarding.
Families tell us time and again that the Hub makes them feel connected to something bigger, to a community that understands the ups and downs of fostering and stands together to give Hull’s children the very best start in life.
None of this would be possible without the incredible support of the Hull FC Community Foundation. Their team share our belief that every child deserves a place to belong. They provide the venue, the coaching and the energy that bring the Hub to life each week. From rugby skills and team games to confidence-building activities, their input is at the heart of every session.
This partnership shows Hull at its best, local organisations working hand-in-hand to give children in care and their foster families the opportunities they deserve.
The Hub has quickly become a lifeline for many families, but the funding that currently supports it runs only until the end until early next year. To keep the doors open and the activities running, we need to secure new funding.
We are actively looking for:
- Corporate sponsors, local businesses who want to make a visible difference for children in Hull
- Community grants, from trusts or funding bodies that support children, families or sport
- Individual donors, anyone who believes in giving children a safe, nurturing place to grow
