Win a magical hands-on animal experience at Goxhill Meadows

One lucky household will win a Hands-On Animal Experience at the beautiful Goxhill Meadows, where your family can enjoy 90 minutes of calm, connection and curiosity with ponies, alpacas, goats and more.

This experience is a lovely opportunity to spend peaceful time together in nature, meeting and greeting the animals, feeding them, grooming them and choosing whether to walk the ponies, alpacas or goats on the day. The session is suitable for families with children aged five and over, and the winning group can include up to five people.

This competition is only open to Hull Fostering foster carers, including your own children and the young people living in your home.

How to Enter

To enter, simply share one short sentence about why you foster or what fostering means to you; “We foster because…” 

It could be a single sentence about your favourite fostering moment, “The day she called our house ‘home’”, or even a photo of something that represents fostering in your home, without showing any identifiable detail. Some examples could be a cup of tea waiting on the table, a pair of wellies by the door or a board game that always makes you smile. 

Entries must be sent to us by Monday 5 January 2026. You can email your entry to fostering@hullcc.gov.uk, or give it to your Fostering Social Worker.

The winner will be announced in the January 2026 newsletter.

Hull Fostering – “Hands-On Animal Experience” Competition

1. Eligibility

This competition is open only to approved Hull Fostering foster carers, including their own children and the young people currently living with them.

Multiple entries per fostering household will be accepted, if submitted by different people witihin the household.

2. How to Enter

To enter, send your sentence, picture or moment that captures 'why you foster' or, 'what fostering means to you' to fostering@hullcc.gov.uk or give it to your Fostering Social Worker.

All entries must be received by Monday 5 January 2026.

3. Use of Entries

By submitting an entry, you give permission for Hull Fostering to use your words or images in future recruitment and publicity materials.

No personal details will be shared publicly.

4. Prize Details

• The prize is a Hands-On Animal Experience at Goxhill Meadows for one family of up to five people, with at least one responsible adult present.
• The youngest suitable age is five years old.
• The experience lasts around 90 minutes and includes meeting, feeding, grooming and walking the ponies, alpacas or goats.
• The experience is available Monday to Friday during school holidays, up to and including Friday 10 April 2026.
• Travel to and from Goxhill Meadows is not included.
• No cash alternative is available.

5. Winner Selection and Notification

• The winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries received by the closing date.
• The winning household will be announced in the January 2026 Hull Fostering Newsletter and contacted directly.
• The prize is non-transferable.

6. General

Hull Fostering reserves the right to amend or withdraw the competition if needed.
