Foster fest 2025

As 2025 comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what this year has meant for Hull Fostering, our children and our carers.

Hull Fostering is about more than matching familes. It is about people. We know our foster carers, we know our children, and because of that, real relationships are built. Friendships form, support is shared naturally, and families feel part of something bigger than their own front door.

That sense of community is why what we do matters.

In 2025, our fostering community came together again and again. We met at our weekly hub on 47 Fridays, gathered 11 times at our exclusive baby and toddler group, and carers connected through more than 70 support groups across the city.

We created joyful moments that our children and families will remember for years. We bounced at Gravity Trampoline Park, enjoyed an Easter egg hunt, picnicked in the RSPCA orchard, and proudly held our first ever Foster Fest summer festival. We organised trips to theme parks, karting sessions and exclusive experiences designed with our children in mind.

We finished the year with festive magic, taking 600 of our community to the pantomime at Hull New Theatre, welcoming 320 young people and 150 adults to our Christmas parties, and gifting 147 advent calendars to our children.

Alongside the events, we celebrated life changing milestones. Five foster carer weddings, 14 young people adopted by their foster parents, and the creation of Together We Foster, a charity set up by foster carers to support our community in incredible ways.

We stayed visible across Hull too, attending 26 galas and fairs, hosting a charity ice hockey game in our name, welcoming two fostering ambassadors, and even seeing Hull Fostering featured on one of the city’s landmark Rats.

We also took time to mark Kinship Care Week, Foster Care Fortnight, Children Who Foster and Supported Lodgings Week of Action, ensuring care in all its forms was recognised and valued.

None of this would have been possible without generous donations, free venue hire, discounted rates and the kindness of local businesses and partners. These gestures allowed us to create meaningful experiences for our families, often when budgets are tight.

2025 reminded us why community matters. Why connection matters. And why Hull Fostering is special.

Because when Hull comes together for its children, incredible things happen.
