Hull Fostering is incredibly proud to share that Together We Foster Hull has been shortlisted for the Newcomer Award at this year’s HEY Smile Foundation awards.
Together We Foster was created by Hull foster carers, for Hull fostering families, following one very simple belief, that children in care deserve joyful memories, opportunities and a community that truly wraps around them.
Although still in the early stages of their journey, the group has already made a huge impact across Hull and East Riding. Through community events, enrichment activities and practical support, Together We Foster is helping children and young people build confidence, friendships, belonging and positive memories that will stay with them for years to come.
From supporting activities such as Foster Fest, to helping bring fostering families together outside of day to day routines, the group has quickly become an important part of Hull’s fostering community.
Hull Fostering was proud to nominate Together We Foster for this award, after seeing first hand the passion, kindness and commitment shown by everybody involved. What makes the group so special is that it has been built by people who truly understand fostering life, the highs, the challenges and the importance of making children feel valued, included and celebrated.

The group works closely alongside Hull Fostering to ensure activities remain child centred and focused on what children, young people and fostering families actually need. Importantly, they are also helping strengthen the incredible sense of community that exists amongst Hull’s foster carers.
The winners will be announced at the Smile Foundation awards ceremony later this month, and we will of course keep everybody updated.
Whatever happens next, Together We Foster should already feel incredibly proud. To receive this recognition so early in their journey is a reflection of the difference they are already making to children, young people and fostering families across Hull and East Riding.
Congratulations to everybody involved. This recognition is so very well deserved.
