Hull’s free charity ice hockey match returns this August, bringing families, community spirit and support for children and young people with care experience together.
Hull’s much loved charity ice hockey match is officially back for 2026, and we honestly could not feel more grateful for the incredible support shown by the team at Kingston Reapers who continue to go above and beyond for Hull’s fostering community.
Now entering its third year, the Hull Fostering Charity Ice Hockey Match has quickly become one of the most exciting and uplifting community events in the city’s calendar.
What started as a brilliant idea has grown into a packed out, high energy family event that brings people together for one very important reason, supporting children and young people with care experience in Hull.
This year’s match will take place on Sunday 30 August at Hull Ice Arena. Doors will open at 4pm, with face off at 5pm, and thanks to the generosity of everybody involved, the event will once again be completely free for everyone to attend.
We are so lucky to have the backing of Kingston Reapers Ice Hockey Club, whose kindness, passion and commitment to our children and families has helped turn this into one of the best free days out in Hull. The atmosphere at previous matches has been incredible, packed stands, cheering crowds, brilliant hockey and a real sense of community spirit throughout the evening.
Featuring talented local players and plenty of entertainment for families, the match is about far more than sport. It helps raise awareness of fostering, celebrates Hull’s fostering community and supports experiences and opportunities for children and young people in care, helping them feel included, valued and part of something special.
Events like this are a reminder of just how powerful Hull can be when people come together. Every cheer from the crowd, every person through the doors and every bit of support shown helps us continue creating positive memories and opportunities for children who deserve the very best from all of us.
