A Wonderful Day at East Hull Community Farm

The school holidays are always a busy time for Hull Fostering families, so it was lovely to spend a sunny day together at East Hull Community Farm.

With the sun shining brightly overhead, foster carers, children, young people and members of the fostering team came together for a relaxed day filled with fun, laughter and plenty of animal encounters.

Families enjoyed seeing the sheep, ducks, rabbits and the beautiful guinea pigs, with many children keen to get up close and learn more about the animals that call the farm home.

There was plenty to keep everyone entertained throughout the day. Children enjoyed playing in the sand, having their faces painted and exploring everything the farm had to offer. Families also took the opportunity to sit together and enjoy a picnic in the sunshine, catching up with friends and making new connections along the way.

Days like these are about much more than just having fun. They provide opportunities for foster families to spend time together, build friendships and feel part of Hull's wider fostering community. Seeing children and young people laughing, playing and creating happy memories is always special, and events like this remind us just how important those shared experiences can be.

We are incredibly fortunate to have so many organisations across Hull who support our fostering community and help create opportunities for children and families to enjoy quality time together.

A huge thank you to everyone at East Hull Community Farm for inviting us along and making us feel so welcome. The farm looked fantastic, the animals were wonderful, and the whole day was enjoyed by everyone who attended.

We had an amazing time and are already looking forward to visiting again.
