Monthly Activities
In a typical month, we host -
- 7 foster care support groups
- a baby and toddler group
- 4 x weekly afterschool sporting activities
- 4 x weekly fostering community hubs where we -
- bake
- make crafts
- watch films
- enjoy a free cooked meal
- play games
- catch up with one another
Special Events
This year, so far we have organised -
- an Easter egg hunt
- 2 summer parties
- a trip to a children's theme park
- a trip to the seaside
- ice skating
- a visit to a trampoline park
- a Halloween party
- a Christmas party
- a special outing for 700 of our fostering community to see the pantomime at Hull New Theatre
- a foster carers conference with special keynote speakers Sarah Naish and Sarah Dillon
Our Commitment
At Hull Fostering, we are a close-knit community that supports one another and deeply cares for the children in our care. As leading professionals and role models for our children and young people, we promise high-quality support, care, progression and comprehensive support.
If you decide to foster with Hull Fostering, you will have a dedicated social worker to guide and support you throughout your fostering journey.
You will have access to -
- 365 days a year support
- an out-of-hours support team for emergencies
- a mentor—an experienced foster carer to help guide and support you
- an extensive training package to continually develop your confidence and skills
- invitations to any of the seven fostering support groups, which run monthly in Hull and East Yorkshire, where you can meet other foster carers and make lifelong friends
- the option to join one of our Mockingbird constellations
- opportunities to attend our exclusive Hull Fostering baby and toddler groups
- invitations to our afterschool sporting activities and weekly Hull Fostering Community Hub
- access to Hull Fostering foster carer’s private Facebook group
- direct CAMHS consultations and support for your family
- a monthly dedicated newsletter
- a set-up grant to cover the start-up costs of fostering
- discounted leisure passes for all Hull City Council leisure facilities, including ice arena sessions, swimming, gym sessions, and golf course fees
- an annual loyalty payment of £500
- one large secondary school trip for the young person, typically abroad
- babysitting allowance
- mileage allowance
- 2 weeks holiday pay
- additional levels payment to recognise your increasing skills and learning
- the ability to speak to anyone at Hull Fostering at any time
Recognition and Celebration
To recognise your ongoing dedication, we celebrate you by -
- inviting you to award ceremonies and thank you events
- providing Max cards for discounted or free entrance to a wide range of national attractions
- offering a £250 referral payment for recommending a friend
- hosting exclusive weekly afterschool clubs, including tea provision, cinema club, sports, crafts
